See what’s happening in the world of wine
Join us September 28, 2025, at Le Vignoble de Chelsea, 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa for “Taste la Belle Province”, a collaboration between My Catering Group, Le Vignoble de Chelsea, and SommWise Inc.
This event will feature a tasting salon showcasing the finest Quebec wine, beer, cider and spirits, delicious bites provided by My Catering Group, exclusive sommelier-run workshops by SommWise Inc. and live music from local performers, all in the charming and rustic atmosphere of Le Vignoble de Chelsea.

Tickets are $150 per person plus tax. Includes all food and beverage.
Limited free shuttle bus add-ons available with pick up & drop off from downtown Ottawa
Free on-site parking.
Please drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive. Attendees must be 18+.
Limited seats available for pick up and drop off from 35 George St. to Le Vignoble de Chelsea on September 28th, 2025.
Shuttle bus for pickup leaves at 3:30 pm, please be 15 minutes early. Pick up spot is 35 George St, Ottawa, ON K1N 7A2, in front of the Totem Pole of Canada.
Bus departs Le Vignoble de Chelsea at 8pm, with arrival in Ottawa at 8:30pm.
Sunday Sober Showdown
Application deadline: September 19th, 2025
Eligibility: Open to Canadian residents - Must work in hospitality or run a beverage focused social media account.
Submission Requirements:
Fill out the application form. Please include a link to your social media page
Include:
Full recipe - must include a minimum of 1 sponsored ingredient (minimum 1 oz) & 1 local Canadian ingredient. Final recipe must be under 0.5% ABV.
Recipes must be original or significantly modified if inspired by another recipe.
Answer the question field with up to 500 words. "Why do you believe non-alcoholic beverage programs are essential in today's hospitality landscape?"
Applicants must be available to compete in person on October 19th, 2025 in Ottawa
A portion of proceeds for this event will be donated to CMHA Ottawa, a not-for-profit organization supporting mental health, recovery and the unhoused in the Ottawa area.

Crafting Ancient Drinks for Modern Tastes
Friday, May 30th, 2025
The Korean Cultural Centre and SommWise Inc. brought together 50 industry experts for a tasting of some of South Korea’s finest traditional beverages including Cheongju, Yakju, Makgeolli, and Soju. Over 2 hours the audience was treated to an educational masterclass along with tutored tastings. The event also featured food pairings provided by Naru Catering in Ottawa.

From the Embassy Cellars: South Africa
Wednesday, April 30th, 2025
In collaboration with the South African High Commission in Ottawa and Wines of South Africa (WOSA), SommWise Inc. guided 25 industry experts through a guided tasting and educational seminar. The event focused on three of South Africa’s most prolific wine styles - Cap Classique, Chenin Blanc, and Pinotage. His Excellency Rieaz Shaik was a gracious host as he welcomed the group at the Ambassador’s Residence. Traditional South African appetizers were provided by Langi Mtimkulu of Tsatsisun Catering.

The Austrian Embassy in Ottawa and Advantage Austria partnered with SommWise Inc. on an intimate masterclass and guided tasting with 22 of Ottawa’s finest wine professionals. Guests learned about, and sampled Austria’s traditional varieties including Gruner Veltliner, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch. His Excellency Andreas Rendl and his wife Mrs. Eva Fuchs-Rendl were kind enough to have the event in the dining room of the Ambassador’s Residence. Thank you to all that attended.

The Embassy of Croatia graciously hosted SommWise Inc.’s inaugural event featuring the wines and food of Croatia, Georgia & Hungary. Thirty guests were treated to a masterclass and tutored tasting of 9 unique Eastern European wines including Graševina, Saperavi and Tokaji.
